During the Thailand Loy Krathong Tour you'll visit Bangkok's Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and the shimmering Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). Explore two of the city's iconic markets, and dive into Bangkok's legendary street eats the authentic way—whizzing through neon-lit streets in a tuk tuk. You'll sample everything from satay skewers to mango sticky rice.

Chiang Mai

Your trip includes a flight to and from Thailand's northern city with its night bazaars, artisan markets, and breathtaking mountain views. After a few days in Bangkok, you'll discover the charm and slower pace of Chiang Mai. Learn the art of Thai cuisine at a farm-to-table cooking class that brings you into the heart of local flavors. Spend a meaningful day at an ethical elephant sanctuary with rescued elephants in a safe and responsible environment that prioritizes conservation. We'll celebrate the Festival of Lights or Loy Krathong by releasing lanterns and floating krathongs during Thailand's most enchanting festival, symbolizing renewal, hope, and light.

Everyone has different mobility levels, and we want to be as transparent about accessibility as possible. We will spend most days on walking tours and activities that require standing. Travelers will have free time most evenings and two free days. We also want to remind you that all of the activities are voluntary.

When advised, please book your flights to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok, Thailand. On departure day, your domestic flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok is included.

After you sign up for the tour you'll be added to the Thailand Loy Krathong Tour Group in our private Network. This is where you can connect with other travelers on your tour and ask questions.

If you cancel within 200 days of the tour, 50% of the total trip cost is non-refundable.

If you cancel within 150 days of the tour, 75% of the total trip cost is non-refundable. 

If you cancel 120 days or less before the tour, 100% of the total trip cost is non-refundable. 

If we cancel the tour, you will receive a full refund. 

In the event of illness, injury, or other extenuating circumstances affecting the trip, the departure will be rescheduled. If you can not attend during the new dates, your deposit will be transferred to another trip.

Prices are based on current exchange rates. THB to USD was 32.59 : 1 on August 20, 2025 and will be used as the base point. As a small business, we will absorb fluctuations up to 8%, but in the unusual case of a significant shift, we’ll split the difference with the traveler fairly. ​

Sawadee ka and welcome to our Thailand Loy Krathong Tour! Your adventure begins in the country's capital city, Bangkok. Famous for its hospitality, tuk tuks, and delicious Thai food, Bangkok is your home for the next four days.

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by our airport representative and transferred to your hotel. If you arrive in Bangkok early, you might want to pamper yourself with a relaxing foot massage after a long travel day.

Your FGT Host and our local guide will meet you in the hotel lobby for the Welcoming Meeting, followed by the group Welcome Dinner. Later, you'll return to your hotel, and you can choose to turn in or have a drink at the rooftop bar.

After breakfast your group will have an early departure as you embark on a temple tour. You'll visit three different temples breaking to enjoy a delicious Thai lunch. The Grand Palace dazzles with intricate mosaics and golden spires. Wat Pho introduces you to the enormous reclining Buddha.

Next, you'll take a traditional khlong (long) boat tour along the Chao Phraya River before arriving at Wat Arun. After you leave the Temple of Dawn and return to the hotel you'll have evening to rest, take a dip in the hotel pool, or explore the city.

Day three begins with a morning visit to the Maeklong Railway Market, where vendors pull back their stalls seconds before a train rolls through. It's chaotic, lively, and unforgettable.

Take a break in the afternoon before visiting one of Bangkok's infamous night markets. Stroll through hundreds of stalls for a diverse array of goods, including clothing, accessories, handicrafts, and delectable street food.

Dinner is included, but instead of a group meal, you'll receive the funds to try local eats from street food stalls. There will be plenty of delicious options to choose from, including river prawns grilled to perfection, pad thai wrapped in delicate egg netting, mango smoothies, and coconut ice cream.

In the evening you'll reconnect with the group for a Tuk Tuk street food tour. You’ll zigzag through alleys and neon-lit neighborhoods, hopping between sizzling roadside stalls for dishes like satay skewers, and mango sticky rice. After the Tuk Tuk Tour you'll return to your hotel where you can head to the rooftop for a drink or tuck in for the night.
